I've had no leaks or spills. I was first drawn to this product when I found out that it has a special loose tea compartment, which was exactly what I was looking for.The basket holes are a little wide, so fine pieces from herbal teas will fall through, but overall it does the job.As for coffee: it makes two cups from my french press, pours into a starbucks "tall" and leaves room for milk.So for coffee or tea, this little thermos is perfect to take anywhere.
I've taken this coffee mug around the world, into Iraq and back and it is durable, reliable and works as advertised keeping coffee hot with no leaks in your backpack or travel bag for hours.
(Perfect for free coffee at the Veteran's Hospital).-- Pay attention to the way color is chosen on your order - I mistakenly ordered the wrong color.-- Seems to be a great item if a little on the expensive side (costs the same to manufacture as would a larger, similar item). Good day --- I've been looking for a 'small' insulated 'coffee cup' for quite some time. This thing is perfect for my uses - and you can do tea in it too.-- Comes with both 'caps' a 'cap' with the tea strainer, and a cap for drinking (small hole) - plus a lid to keep either from spilling.
Thinner teas (like Rooibos)seep through a little bit, but its definitely a great mug. This mug is amazing. Its a must have for any tea lover. I bought my first one through Teavana for a bit more and my boss had to have one, so this is actually the second one we've purchased. It keeps my drink hot through just about the whole work day. Its also a very convenient way to make tea with the interchangeable infuser and sipping lids (and they are very easy to clean).
It has 2 different lids: one w/ the infuser and one w/o (like a typical coffee lid) and then a cap (fits on both inserts) to seal in the heat. If you are on the go, and you are a tea drinker, just boil your water throw in a bag (don't need the infuser) or leaves (needs the infuser) and you're ready to go. And in case you were wondering, it can be used equally well for coffee. It works well for tea bags or tea leaves. What's nice is that you can put boiling water into it and the temperature on the outside of the tumbler barely elevates in temperature.
